Spotlight Session – California State University Seeks Creative Solutions to Reach Carbon Neutrality

Sep 20 2023

1:15 PM - 1:45 PM MST

This session will discuss the challenges and creative solutions being implemented by the California State University system to reach their carbon neutrality and zero net energy goals. Lindsey Rowell, the Chief of Energy, Sustainability and Transportation will outline some of the new programs being implemented at the systemwide level with the intention of augmenting staff shortages, addressing funding concerns and filling gaps in expertise at campuses across the largest public university system in the country. This presentation is intended to be interactive and will be accepting and addressing audience questions as well as seeking feedback and suggestions for program modifications or future program models. The CSU has broad experience in multiple financial models and has a systemwide renewable energy target of 85 MW of installation capacity by 2040 as well as broad scale storage and microgrid and controls solutions. Come join the discussion and learn how the public sector is finding ways to respond to climate change with long-term sustainable solutions and innovative approaches.
