A globally known renewable energy executive, speaker, and author, Brandon Owens serves as Vice President of Sustainability at Insight Sourcing Group and leads the firm’s sustainability business Insight Energy. Published in CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, S&P Global, The Hill, Green Biz, Utility Dive, SupplyChainBrain, and more, Owens advises clients on implementing enterprise energy and sustainability programs in pursuit of decarbonization and ESG efforts, helping build best-in-class programs that reduce costs, manage risk, and improve competitive positions. Owens counsels clients and board directors on navigating environmental policies and advises on strategic best practices to meet their goals. His clients include Fortune 500 companies, PE firms, governments, research organizations, energy consultancies, and global energy corporations.
As the leader of Insight Energy, he focuses on advancing energy technologies and advocacy of carbon neutrality across Insight Sourcing Group’s client base. Before joining Insight Sourcing Group, Owens directed General Electric’s flagship sustainability program and helped formulate and direct strategy within the GE Digital power generation and oil and gas business. Before his 14-year career at GE, Owens was a seasoned global energy consultant with deep renewable energy expertise. He started his career in emerging energy technology research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Owens is also an accomplished author. His recent book, ‘The Wind Power Story,’ traces the evolution of wind power from the nineteenth century to the present day and provides insights into the future.
