Monica Walker

Monica Walker is General Motors’ Renewables and Energy Strategy Manager. She is responsible for efforts to make our grid greener and more resilient; and to ensure that GM achieves its RE100 commitment: match facility electricity usage with 100% by renewable energy in the US by 2025, and globally by 2035. This includes procuring renewable energy, engaging in policy advocacy that supports clean energy, and supporting GM’s suppliers on their decarbonization journey. She is also responsible for GM’s workplace charging program, including managing over 2,000 Level 2 chargers in support of employee EV adoption. Monica has been with General Motors for nine years, and in past roles has been responsible for environmental compliance programs at manufacturing facilities in Flint, well as corporate sustainability waste reduction initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering as well as an MBA from the University of Michigan.
