As the Net Zero Advocacy Lead, Reem develops and manages Google’s strategic advocacy campaigns in support of Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy and Net Zero goals. Previously, she was the Net Zero Senior Manager at Target, where she was responsible for advancing the company’s decarbonization efforts across its operations and value chain through strategic partnerships and investments.
Reem has governmental and diplomatic experience in the climate and energy sectors. She served as a Policy Advisor for Energy and Environment at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Energy and Climate Attaché to the British Consulate General in San Francisco. She also worked at the World Bank, managing a $150 million portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects. Reem was educated at Brown University and the University of Oxford. She serves on the board of Climate Music, a non-profit operation that seeks to communicate climate science through music.
